Origami (Japanese Folding Paper)
Origami is one of Japan’s unique traditional arts and a popular children’s pastime, meaning ‘folding paper’. The goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques, and as such the use of cuts or glue are not considered to be origami.
The number of basic origami folds is usually small, but they can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. In this 2 hour lesson, you will learn how to fold paper into one of the best known origami, the Japanese crane.
